Before undergoing LASIK in Thailand, you'll need to have a comprehensive eye examination to ensure your eyes are healthy and that you're a good candidate for the procedure. This examination can be performed in your home country or in Thailand, but we recommend doing this before traveling to Thailand if you have the opportunity to do so.
You will be asked to stop wearing contact lenses 3-7 days ahead of the examination and the surgery as they can change the shape of your cornea. It's also essential to share your complete medical history with the surgeon, including any medications you're currently taking.

During LASIK surgery, the surgeon uses a microkeratome or a femtosecond laser to create a thin flap in the cornea. The cornea is then carefully reshaped using an excimer laser, and the flap is put back in place. Please wash your face and hair the day before the procedure and do no wear any make-up, perfume or hair products on the day of the procedure.
Post-surgery, patients may experience a temporary burning sensation or discomfort in the eye. Vision generally improves within a day or two, but it may take several weeks to stabilize completely.
Patients are advised to rest, avoid strenuous activities, and use prescribed eye drops to aid in healing and preventing infection. You may wash your face with a washcloth but avoid washing your face and hair until the cornea flap has healed to decrease the risk of complications.
